ADULT EDUCATORS : BUILDING CONFIDENCE, OFFERING HOPE
Adult educators play a critically important role in the lives of their students especially those who come from minority groups and marginalized populations. Strini will share what he has learned over the years about how we can further enhance the effectiveness of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible service to these learners.

Strini Reddy was born in and raised in South Africa. In his 42 year career in education he taught at all levels from primary to post-secondary in 5 countries. Over the years, he has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards for his work in education, social justice, peace and anti-racism. He was among the first Manitobans to be inducted into the Order of Manitoba. He is also the recipient of the Queen's Jubilee Medal as well as the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award. In 2013, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Law degree from the University of Manitoba in recognition of his distinguished public service. Strini was the first chair of the Provincial Healthy Advisory Committee, a capacity in which he served for 12 years. In 2016, Strini was one of 5 Manitobans to be invested in the Order of Canada.
